Dr. Razavi's Good to Know Info: Is It Safe to Eat Chicken in Asia ?
Just visited a place called Dr. Razavi's Good to Know Info: Is It Safe to Eat Chicken in Asia ? was the topic I started reading into. Actually there was a topic on travelling in China and I left a question about the recommendation against poliomyelitis vaccine boosters she offered.
Dr Razavi is based at the Google HQ in California and appears fairly sharp with regard to her knowledge of medicine. It's a decent enough place and she even cuts through the hype to get to what is for the best part straight talk...
A lot like what I deal with over here...

Polio vaccine is "officially" recommended in areas where there have been known outbreaks as per the CDC (Center for Disease Control), but I know of doctors who think it's a good idea to get one booster dose as an adult any way.
Thank you for the information about that, Dr Razavi. I appreciate the clarification.
Apparently China has done its homework in cutting down on infectious diseases over the past several decades.
And though some folks, myself included, disagree with their form of government, the authorities should be credited for working to cut down on childhood diseases even with the explosion of the population.
As for undercooked chicken I think we have more to fear from salmonella or trichinosis than we have from avian influenza in any country. As always it is important in ANY country to cook thoroughly.
